Illinois Medical Insurance Analysts Weigh in on Health Care Reform Bill
by Mike Novelli February 25, 2010

With the economy attempting to rebound a full recovery, the medical insurance debacle looms. Illinois medical insurance company, Humana revealed their perceptions about the proposed reform bill. Meanwhile, in Washington, President Barack Obama’s administration is rushing to resolve the health reform bill by the end of March 2010.

At the apex of the recession, the medical industry, which accounts for 17 percent of the United States economy, did not endure the layoffs other sectors experienced. Financial analysts predict that the proposed health care reform bill would hinder America’s economical system. The Obama administration calculates that the new reform bill will take 10-years to phase in, costing $2 trillion.

The Illinois medical insurance provider, Humana supports many facets of the reform bill. The major player suggests that by making Illinois medical insurance and other health plans affordable and accessible to Americans, fewer people will be subjected to the financial and medical drawbacks of being uninsured.

However, not all involved parties, insurance companies, consumer advocates, employees and employers share the same sentiment about the medical insurance conundrum. A high percentage of Americans are not interested in a-one-size fits all health option.

Some analysts consider HumanaOne to be the prototype for an affordable Illinois medical insurance plan, featuring low premium, high paying deductibles. “Although the policy is ideal for healthier policyholders, others prefer a plan where the insurance covers an equitable share of medical costs; without all the exclusions,” contends Illinois medical insurance agent Mike Novelli.

Humana suggests that a revised health bill should make medical insurance premiums tax-deductible, regardless of who sources the health coverage.  Consumer advocates simplify the health issue, contending the government needs to mandate transparency, nationwide regulation and affordability.

Given the cost of Illinois medical insurance, many Illinoisans are concerned by the plight of health care, which has jumped by 20 percent over the last two years in the state of Illinois.

Mr. Novelli blames part of the problem on the fact that many Americans are not getting a fair deal on Illinois medical insurance because many are unaware of the importance of obtaining several medical insurance quotes.
