Having Illinois health Insurance can be the difference between life and death. In an alarming study released on September 17, 2009 by theĀ Harvard School of Public Health, data showed that more deaths are related to people who are uninsured, than those, who die due to kidney disease (43,000), cervical cancer (3700) aortic aneurysms (14,000) Research suggests that not having health insurance accounts for almost 44,000 deaths each year.

The federally sponsored survey involved physical examinations and comprehensive interviews of Americans aged 17 to 64. Researchers compiled data from the National Center for Health Statistics previous study, from the Third National and Nutrition Examination Survey. The authors analyzed reports, evaluating the relationship between Americans who were uninsured, major illnesses ailments and heightened health risks. (The study included consumers with and without Illinois health insurance).

The findings depicted that there was a higher rate of emergency room visits, poorer preventative care and management of chronic diseases than Americans, who did have medical coverage. Additional findings showed that uninsured Americans had achieved better wellbeing once they were of age to qualify for Medicare.

Meanwhile, with almost 40 million uninsured Americans, the Illinois Department of Public Health indicates that more than 250,000 adults and children do not have Illinois health insurance. With the growing number of public health center closings coupled with the inflating cost of medical care, forgoing Illinois Health Insurance is a sickening prospect.
